Earlier this week one of my neighbours asked me if I would be able to help them with a Christmas Party they were organising in the village hall. They were offering food and asked if I’d be able to play on my ukulele to provide some background music for about an hour. I said that I’d be pleased to help in exchange for some food and a drink.
However, they then mentioned that it would be a Caribbean themed party and they would like some music in the reggae style. I said that it would no problem and I’d be happy to find some suitable songs. So far I’ve found about ten songs such as “Three Little Birds”, “No Woman No Cry”, “I Shot the Sheriff” and “Red, Red Wine”. In the next few weeks I’ll be busy practising my reggae strum on the ukulele with a bit of chunking and emphasising the off-beat. It should be a fun evening and I’m looking forward to it.
