I’ve just returned from seeing Joe Brown in concert at Stafford Gatehouse. He’s an absolute mega musical talent and a very skilled ukulele player. He was great friends with the late George Harrison with whom he used to jam on their ukuleles. Joe ended the show with “I’ll See You In My Dreams”, a song which he also played at the Concert for George Harrison.
The show also featured Joe talking about his early days, growing up in a pub in London’s East End, discovering skittle and being a Rock/N/Roll pioneer. If you have the opportunity I fully recommend catching the show “Joe Brown 2018”.
Here’s a poem written by Joe about the ukulele:-
When everything is getting worse,
and troubles plague your daily –
there’s nothing like a short sharp burst
upon your ukulele.
As mentioned above Joe ended the show with “I’ll See You In My Dreams” which is plays in the key of F and here’s a pdf file of the music:-
Ukulele – I’ll see you in my dreams (in F)
However, I find it a challenging piece to play that key and I play an easier version in the key of C:-
I’ll See You In My Dreams (with chords)
